What is the difference between this extension and Optimoz Tweaks?

Release 0.31 is causing the sidebar to jump up and down when clicking on the Sidebar History button. Went back to 0.30 and the problem is gone.

i agree with what another poster said earlier. sage support would be nice!

I like this extension but it is incompatible with the latest nightlies Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050606 Firefox/1.0+
new profile, no other extensions. And since the latest nightlies are close to Fx 1.1 the extension needs to be updated.

Is .031 compatible with Firefox 1.0.4? I cannot get it to work. I used to use the sidebar before upgrading Ff this week.

the icon bar occasionally does not show when i start up. clicking the side of the screen and then clicking the toolbar button for another option makes the bar show. i think it should be possible for the effects of poto sidebar to be turned off if the user wants to. for example, i have download manager tweaks installed, and have set the downloads to open in a tab. this option does not work when poto is enabled. also, i have EMbuttons installed, but set to open in a window. in this case as well the icon is useless. and i'd also like the option to turn off the icon bar. it takes up space i want. all that having been said, this extensions is great, and i couldn't browse without it. whenever i use a computer that doesn't have it i get frustrated when clicking on the side of the screen doesn't work.

to clarify: i'd like to be able to turn off the effects of poto on certain things, in my case the downloads and extension sidebars. i'd keep the history and bookmarks. also, whenever you open a sidebar without poto, the sidebar's icon is next to the close button of the sidebar. why don't you add the icons there? you could make the current sidebar's icon colored and the others gray. that way the icons wouldn't take up any space in the sidebar. i don't program, so i don't know if this would be a lot of work or not. but thanks for taking the time to listen.

It would be great if POTO remembered which sidebar (downloads, bookmarks, history) you were looking at when it was last closed, and displayed it again when it reopened instead of defaulting to history. Keep up the good work!

Would be nice to be able to switch between icon to text labels (ie. if icons style doesn't look good with theme style). So I downgraded to 0.3.

What about displaying both History and Bookmarks on the sidebar, one on top of each other? With a splitter on the middle so u can resize it to ur fit. Maybe not just those 2 but also other panels? Much like the sidebar worked on Mozilla suite where you could add many panels and collapse and expand them when u clicked on the panel header

It will only work for those running high res desktops but I think it will keep most of what u need on the screen

Leon, remove the code onload="Startup();POTO_UpdateHidden();" from potosidebarOverlay.xul to make it work with Firefox 1.0+. As far as I can tell the only effect this has is to stop the sidebar from being hidden on starting Firefox, if it was open last time Firefox was closed.
Also what licence is your code under?
